Math Kangaroo is an international mathematics competition that challenges students to think creatively and logically through fun, engaging, and non-routine math problems. Open to students from grades 1–12, it focuses on developing problem-solving skills rather than rote calculation.
Each participant works independently on multiple-choice questions that blend logic, geometry, algebra, and number theory. The contest encourages mathematical curiosity and critical thinking in a friendly, inclusive environment.
It’s a great way for students to experience math beyond the classroom and to discover the joy of challenging themselves. If you’re not sure where to start with math competitions, Math Kangaroo is an excellent first step!
Noetic Learning is a national mathematics competition for elementary and middle school students (grades 2–8). It encourages young learners to develop strong problem-solving and logical reasoning skills through creative, challenging math problems.
The contest is held twice a year — in spring and fall — and can be taken online or through schools. Students work individually on 20 thought-provoking questions that go beyond regular classroom math.
